To further develop the service levels the company now seeks to employ the following: -

 

Role: Planner - French Markets

There is a specific requirement for the jobholder to have bilingual English/French language skills.

Responsible for: The planning, control and freight management of all Groupage Division's part loads, eurofirst and standard service products within your designated geographic markets to meet agreed company door to door transit times.

Purpose: To achieve or reduce department's cost targets, by ensuring all part load freight is direct chartered or direct collect/delivered on line haul services. That all eurofirst and standard freight is planned on the most efficient route, loaded in the most ergonomical manner and delivered on first attempt, with a primary focus on the most cost efficient plan.

 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Financial - To manage the Groupage Division's profit and loss for freight movement within designated geographical areas, by ensuring that production costs for part loads are reduced to below market rate, or by COT/DOT on linehauls where appropriate. To action remedial plans to maximise/limit exchange fluctuations and market seasonality.

Planning - Ensure that controlled linehauls maximise direct collections, direct deliveries where network or carriage is cost prohibitive. Where linehaul is unable to complete cot/dot then use of direct charter via approved subcontractor, obtained at or below market rate, to ensure freight is moved within budgetary expectations.

To proactively performance manage existing approved subcontractors to retain loyalty and service levels.

To seek out and vet new suppliers to ensure market rates are maintained and flexibility achieved via database of alternative suppliers.

Partner Relationship Management - To develop working relationships (inclusive of visits) with partners import customer services and key operational staff and or network licensees to ensure seamless movement of UK export freight.

To become centre of excellence for Cargoline Network mechanics/services and act as cascade for all new news bulletins from Cargoline.

Final Mile Resolution Management - Respond to Job Owner query regarding final mile network delivery within specified timeframes.

Liaise with Agent/Licensee and resolve anomaly to ensure freight movement at lowest possible corrective cost.

Line Haul Management - Ensure compliance to master transportplan departures/arrivals in line with eurofirst and std service levels - Control dot/cots. Communication with front office as to expected late arrival etc.

Arrival at Correct UK International Platform - Determine from trailer planning which international platform export freight to depart from and ensure that freight is allocated to correct UK trunk to meet trailer departures.

Job Booking - Register all export masters and liaise with offices to ensure all jobs intergrouped.  Ensure that all jobs allocated to ship will be available in time to load and that load does not exceed recognized boundaries for weight and cube.

Customer Service Queries - Resolve all enquiries re freight movement identified in TAS system.

Sales - Identify areas where we can be more competitive or where cargo is needed and communicate to sales team.

Reserving - Reserve accurately in TAS all costs for purchase invoices that will be allocated in the future.

GIT liability - Initiate GIT claims process following driver debrief or on communication of incident.

Inter-grouping - Ensure all inter-groups are completed correctly as per the standard inter-group tariff by each office.

Operational Paperwork/EDI - Ensure correct documentation /edi is ready for all Export trailers by specified deadlines.  Special attention to customs paperwork.

Dangerous Goods - Ensure correct docs for PTL shipments are ready when driver collects and make booking with the ferry/tunnel.

Performance Information - Provide key statistical information by 10.00 am of previous days activities.

Legal Requirements - All legal requirements must be met, especially with drivers’ hours and vehicle condition.

Quality & H&S - Follow company quality and Health and Safety policy in all areas, particular attention to ensure the ALL sub-contractors are approved

 

Specific Tasks and Responsibilities:

Closure of all export master files entry of shipping details to be completed and master closed/invoices raised to agent.
