PURPOSE OF POSITION
Role Description
The purpose to this role is to provide engineering input to the new business & current customer teams to ensure the provision of solutions that suit the defined hardware and budgetary requirements
Reporting To: Country Manager, Benelux
SPECIFIC DUTIES INVOLVE:
Primary responsibility is to assist the Sales Executives, Account Managers and Business Development Consultants in qualifying and addressing prospect’s technical requirements. This is accomplished via conference calls, site visits, and email correspondence. The Solutions Engineer uses the information to determine a solution that meets the customers’ business and technical requirements, working with the sales and account management teams to craft proposals and present to prospects. You will also be able to demonstrate strong analysis capabilities and technical knowledge by providing innovative and realisable technical solutions. You will have one to three month intensive training in London.
Secondary responsibilities include:
• Training the sales teams• Working with the product management team to provide feedback on additional product lines and updates to current offerings
Analyse needs of the Sales team to create supporting documentation or tools.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will be graduate with proven experience of Pre/Post Sales preferably with an ISP or Hosting provider. You should have excellent customer facing skills along with extensive technical knowledge of Internet related infrastructure including networking, complex hosting solutions, multiple operating systems and a variety of software and hardware solutions. Your expertise and personable skills will make you stand out from the crowd.
Soft Skills:
• Excellent communications skills (oral, written and presentation) in both English and Dutch.
• High standard of professionalism and ethics.
Technical Skills
• Knowledge of a range of Internet and Networking t echnologies such as Complex Hosting Solutions including:
o Windows, Linux
o Database Layer
• Differences between database products available
• Knowledge of cluster configurations
o Web and Application layer
• Scripting languages, static & dynamic content
• Application server environments
• Sizing techniques
• Application flow
• Securing web/application infrastructure
o Networking:
• Firewalls and security devices
• Load Balancing technologies
• Network infrastructure and topologies
• Communications protocols
• Logical network planning and DNS
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelors degree in IS/IT or related field or equivalent work experience required
PERSONAL QUALITIES
• Highly passionate person with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as facil itation and presentation skills
• Ability to plan, organise and problem solve to a high degree and an ability to work as a team
YOU MUST BE AVAILABLE TO UNDERGO IMMEDIATE TRAINING IN THE UK FOR 1-3 MONTHS (ACCOMMODATION PROVIDED).Please note, you must be eligible to work in the Netherlands on a full time basis.
Preference would be Dutch speaking however this is not essential.
SALARY: €50k - €60k euros base with €13.5k euros commission plan (OTE €63.5k to €73.5k euros) + 8% Holiday Allowance & Excellent Company Benefits (Pension, Gym Membership, Health Insurance, Healthcare… and more)
