Summary
This role is responsible for the sales and technical activity from a technical perspective for partners (channel), end-users and the local sales team. Such as, but not limited to;
• Assisting the local sales team with all pre-sales activities, including preparing technical tender responses, presenting all products from a technical perspective at meetings and seminars, answering pre-sales technical questions by telephone and email.
• Efforts to maximise the use of technology for competitive advantage in the market against competitors.
• Efforts to maximise the revenues from potential and existing customers/partners in the region through providing technical assistance.
• Being a strong relationship builder with technology and business partners, with the ability to assist in addressing complaints or client dissatisfaction to full resolution where technical issues are identified.
The individual will provide technical expertise, advice and support across DACH and occasionally southern Europe / BeNeLux. A second language is therefore desirable, whereas English is a must and optional French or Italian.
Based in the German office, the role will be partly office based but also requires travelling to client/partner sites and foreign locations.
Responsibilities
• Technologically articulate and competent
o Can articulate M86 Security product functionality and application propositions.
o Discussing the unique functional proposition of the company's products.
o Can represent the company and its product base to a wide range of technical audiences
o Understands local technical infrastructure issues and can manage them to successful implementation or seek appropriate resources to ensure proper service provision and eliminate delivery failure to the business.
o Work with remote resources in connection with technical issues
• Pre-sales support
o Training of channel pre-sales personnel, end-users and sales team
o “Assisted Evaluations”
- On site installation, training, discussion, and positioning of requirements and methods of evaluating products.
- Managing the Evaluation cycle.
o Supporting sales personnel (and channel partners) with the creation of all relevant technical components of proposals being supplied to customers. This could include tenders, implementation proposals, technical elements and configurations for enterprise size deals, etc.
o Establish new, and maintaining existing, relationships with customers/channel/partners.
o Designing, planning, and coordinating technical projects with the sales team
o Can own and deliver technical sales projects and deliver to timescales
o Maximising customer potential in designated regions
o Maintaining and expanding working knowledge of current products as well as integration and methods of support delivery
• Reporting
o Can undertake monthly and quarterly activity planning and reporting as required, to drive activity, create documentation and executing results.
o Assist product management by reporting customer needs and/or product feature lack and/or product bugs.
Candidate Requirements:
Requirements
• Technical BA/BS degree and experience in a technology field.
Or equivalent work experience.
• Experience to a large extend with network operations (switches, routers, proxy servers, cache engines, firewalls).
• Certifications such as MCSE, MCP, CCNA/CCNP, Linux, SQL and other applicable certifications. More is preferred.
• Strong knowledge in two or more of the following areas of technology:
o Server /desktop operating systems - Windows / Linux
o Protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, SMTP, SNMP, LDAP
o Firewall
o eMail (SMTP relays )
o HTTP proxies - ISA, Squid, Bluecoat
o Content Filtering
o Services: Active Directory, eDirectory, LDAP
• Quick learner with a desire to learn new tools and techniques and complex products
• Share information, knowledge, and experience.
• Strong multi-tasking and problem resolution abilities
• Good communication skills
• Good presentation skills (in sales process but also seminars and alike)
• Teamwork and cooperation
• Positive, solution oriented
• Commitment
• Fluent English is a must. An additional Southern Europe language would be a pré.
• Travelling across DACH region and occasionally to foreign countries (southern Europe, BeNeLux)
