First Interview

  • What are the company's plans for expansion over the next 2 to 3 years?
  • Do you envisage moving into the European (Asian, African, Middle Eastern, North American or South American) markets?
  • What opportunities are there for development of my existing language skills and to learn new languages?
  • Do you use external trainers or are there in-house staff?
  • What will I be doing in the first two weeks of working here?
  • What are the key characteristics that you are looking for in an employee at this company?

Second Interview

  • Company X have just started selling widgets into the South American marketplace - how are you going to compete against them?
  • What government policies are impacting on the need to provide services in languages other than English?
  • Is staff morale high? How do you maintain such a good relationship?
  • Do the London and Beijing office work well together? How have the cultural differences been overcome?
  • Is performance reviewed on both an individual and a team basis?  What do people have to do to achieve promotions?
  • My ambition is to set-up one of your new offices overseas.  How quickly could we make that happen?
