Salary: £20K - £21K

Location: Leamington Spa, Warwickshire

Language: German or Spanish or Italian

Our client has over 25 years experience in the translation industry, providing translation, website and software localisation and interpreting services to a wide variety of business sectors.

They are looking to expand their Customer Services team and are currently looking to recruit a Translation and Interpreting Customer Services Co-ordinator with at least one foreign language to manage the translation and interpreting requirements of their clients (from and into all language combinations).

Your role

As the Translation and Interpreting Customer Services Co-ordinator, you will act as the main contact person between clients and suppliers. With an assigned portfolio of clients to manage, you will be responsible for handling projects through all stages, to include liaison with the client to understand requirements, planning, assigning translation and interpreting teams, negotiating deadlines and coordinating the process through to delivery. Your role will also involve development of existing accounts to ensure long-standing, sustainable relationships with our client base.


Your Responsibilities

  • Coordination of all aspects of the translation process across multiple project from defining client requirements, quotation preparation, translator liaison, proof-reading and delivery of finished product
  • Regular liaison with client to resolve any queries that may arise during translation and ensure requirements are met to the highest standard
  • Quality control of translations
  • Management and development of client accounts
  • Hands-on production involvement such as checking completeness and accuracy of translation prior to delivery to client or sending it to typesetting if needed.
  • Use of translation memory software, including terminology extraction and pre-translation.
  • Reporting to the General Manager

Your Skills

  • Fluent in English plus at least one other language (German, Spanish, Italian)
  • Educated to degree standard. If degree is not in translation, similar qualifications required.
  • Previous experience in translation services would be advantageous.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills - able to prioritise while handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Acrobat, html). Familiarity with desktop publishing software (QuarkXPress, Framemaker) would be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills - able to develop further business with existing client base
  • Strong customer focus, previous client contact experience an advantage
  • Commitment to provide excellent service to all clients
  • Passionate about languages
  • Knowledge of Trados (or any other CAT tools)
  • Flexible team player
  • Professional demeanour and conscientious approach to work.
  • Self-motivated and pro-active
  • Focused on goals and the overall team and company objectives
