JOB DESCRIPTION
Business Development Executive – EU – Components
Designated Areas – Northern Europe
Area presently consists of:-
Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Netherlands, Greece, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.

Reports to: Sales and marketing manager
Responsible for: N/A

 

OBJECTIVES

To assist sales department to meet sales targets and achieve their maximum potential.
To take responsibility for a number of accounts and deal with them both internally from European Head office and externally by customer visits.
To act as a liaison point between customers and company production plants.
To contribute to the growth of the business by proactivately progressing new and existing customers.

 

KEY SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

Adequate PC skills with knowledge of relevant software packages:
Outlook or similar e-mailing system
ACT or similar customer database
Microsoft Word
Microsoft Excel
MRP system

Attention to detail
An adequate level of numeracy in order to process quotations, exchange rates etc.
To be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
To be able to prioritise workload and work under one’s own initiative.
To be an effective communicator throughout all areas of business and with customer, fluent spoken and written German essential.
Results driven to achieve and exceed the required targets.

 

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

To accept and to generate sales enquiries from one’s own customers and action as appropriate, including:

Generating quotations
Sending technical information
Providing delivery information
Requesting/preparing samples for customers
Following up on quotations or previous communications
Finding projects and applications for company products within customers own business
Processing customer complaints
Visiting new and existing customers on a regular basis to enable sales growth
To manage customer projects through the business to ensure they reach completion
Visiting customers sites to further progress sales activity
Finding new sources of market information for the area to enable lead generation
Attending exhibitions to ensure area growth
Prospecting to find new customers in order to achieve year on year growth of the area
Completing various reports required by the Sales Manager indicating area performance
To meet and exceed the sales target set for the area

To participate in sharing general office duties in order to maintain a well-run and efficient office.  Duties include:
ACT database administration
Other duties as required by Sales Manager

 

TARGETS AND RESULTS
Targets will be set and results expected against the following measures:
Sales turnover for the designated area
Visits to customers
Calls to customers

These targets will be discussed and agreed separately with the Sales Manager
